RSVPs and attendee experience
How people find events, RSVP, add calendar reminders, and join.
Community Events tab
Inside a community page, the Events tab includes:
- Upcoming, Past Events, and All Events filters
- List and Grid view toggles
- Event counts in the header
Moderators see a Create Event button in this tab.
RSVP options
Event cards show RSVP controls that update member status:
- Attending / Going
- Maybe
- Can't Go
The primary button label switches between RSVP, Attending, Maybe, and Not Attending based on the member’s status.
For account-wide events shown in Help & Guides, use the one-click RSVP button. It changes to Going after the response is saved; select it again to withdraw the RSVP.
RSVP access and capacity
- Visitors must sign in and have access to the event before they can RSVP.
- Public guest-registration events can show a name and email form on the event page so visitors can reserve a spot without signing in first.
- When guest registration succeeds, the visitor is marked as attending and can receive a confirmation email when email sending is configured.
- Signed-in RSVP changes and the public guest-registration form stay open through the event end time, so someone joining late can still register and receive the event link. Unpublished events do not accept new RSVP changes.
- Events with closed registration show that registration is closed instead of showing RSVP controls.
- When Max Attendees is set, Hiveality blocks new Attending responses after the event reaches capacity.
- Attendee counts appear only when the organizer chooses to show them and at least one person is going. Private attendee details remain limited to people who can manage the event, and hidden counts do not change capacity rules.
Event details members see
- Date and time in each card.
- Location with a virtual badge when a link is used.
- Attendee count, e.g.
4/25when a max attendee limit is set. - Join Event or Join button when a location URL is present.
- Add to calendar with choices for Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, or another calendar app. Saved times are converted to the attendee's local calendar time.
- Join now near the start time for an event you are attending.
- Recent replays after an organizer adds a replay link.
When email sending is configured, a saved Going response can send a confirmation and a reminder before the event. Events you are attending can also show a starting-soon notice in the workspace.
