Text Widget

Add rich text paragraphs, lists, inline links, and paste controls.

The Text widget is best for paragraphs, callouts, and list content. It uses the same rich text editor as the Heading widget.

Add a Text widget

1

Open the widget picker

In the page editor, open Widgets.

2

Drag Text

In Common, drag Text (text icon) onto the page.

3

Edit the text

Click the widget and choose Edit text or double-click to type.

Text editing toolbar

Use the toolbar to format content:

  • Styles: switch between paragraph, heading, small text, and quote styles.
  • Font Family, Font Size, Line Height.
  • Text Color and Highlight Color.
  • Bold, Italic, Underline, Text Decoration.
  • Bullet List and Numbered List.
  • Text Alignment, Add Link, Paste Options, Clear Formatting.
  • Ask AI: use the prompt dialog to choose Create, Improve, Shorten, or Lengthen, or write a custom instruction. You can include content above and below the text so the rewrite fits the section.

When you edit a heading at tablet or mobile width, the canvas shows how a custom base font size scales for that smaller screen. The saved base size does not change when you switch preview widths.

Paste options

Use Paste Options when you need one-time control over formatting.

  • Paste to match current style: pastes as plain text styled by the current block.
  • Paste with basic formatting on next paste: keeps structure, links, bold, and italic.
  • Keep source formatting on next paste: keeps source styling for the next paste only, then resets.

Toolbar actions

When the widget is selected (not editing), use:

  • Edit text
  • Alignment
  • Animation
  • Position
  • Copy
  • Delete

Tips

  • Use Styles to quickly turn a paragraph into a subheading, small-text note, or quote.
  • Set Text Color on the widget when the full text block should share one color. Paragraphs, headings, and lists inherit that color unless selected text has its own inline color.
  • Use Add Link for inline links to pages, popups, or files. When editing an existing link, the dialog opens with the current link details. Internal links keep their saved new-tab and nofollow choices instead of being changed when the text is reopened.
  • Validate readability and line-length across breakpoints using Responsive Design.

Clear formatting with a connected assistant

If pasted text keeps overriding your widget style, a connected assistant can remove selected inline styles. By default this clears inline font size, weight, and family; ask explicitly for other properties or emphasis formatting to be removed. Links, block structure, and embedded media remain in place. Preview the draft before publishing.

Clean up text with a connected assistant

A connected assistant can remove empty paragraphs at the start or end of a text widget without rewriting its other content. Ask explicitly if empty paragraphs inside the text should also be removed.

When replacing several paragraphs, provide one replacement for each existing paragraph so its structure and styling can be retained. If the paragraph counts do not match, the edit stops for a more specific request instead of saving new copy alongside leftover old text. Preview headings, links, and spacing before publishing.
