Delay

Pause a flow for a set amount of time.

What a delay does

A Delay step pauses a flow for a specific amount of time (minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months).

1

Add a Delay step

Add a Delay step where you want the flow to pause.

2

Choose the time amount

Pick minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months.

3

Test with one contact

Trigger the flow once and confirm it resumes on schedule.

When to use it

  • Wait a few minutes before sending a follow-up
  • Delay an internal task so it doesn’t fire immediately
  • Add spacing between emails in a sequence

Editing a flow while contacts are waiting

If you edit the step after a Delay while contacts are already waiting, Hiveality uses the latest published next step when the delay finishes. If the Delay no longer has a next step, the contact finishes that path instead of retrying an outdated destination. If the previous Delay step was deleted or the contact has already moved elsewhere, the waiting callback is skipped cleanly.

If you need a specific date or condition instead, use Wait Until.

Wait Until
Pause until a date/time or condition is met.
