Domain Needs Ownership Verification
Verify domain ownership through DNS when the domain is connected through another hosting account.
What this means
This message means the domain is currently connected through another hosting account. You can still connect it to Hiveality by proving that you control its DNS.
Adding the verification TXT record does not move the domain or interrupt the website that currently uses it.
Fastest path
Open the domain in Hiveality
Return to Domains and try to connect the domain.
Choose the assisted path
Close the connection window and select Let Us Connect Your Domain when it is available. Choose the domain provider and follow the limited-access instructions.
Complete DNS verification
Support can complete the TXT ownership-verification step through the shared provider access. If you prefer to handle the record yourself, ask support for the exact verification name and value.
Verify and connect
Keep the existing website and DNS records in place while verification is pending. Return to Domains and continue the connection after ownership is confirmed.
Share limited provider access through the provider's invitation feature and follow the request in support. Never share a password, verification code, recovery code, support PIN, or payment information.
Who needs to take action
- If you manage the domain's DNS, you can add the verification TXT record once support provides the exact name and value.
- If someone else manages DNS, send them the verification details from support.
- If you cannot edit DNS, use Let Us Connect Your Domain when it is available or contact Support (Hiveality).
Important note
Your domain does not need to be registered under Hiveality to work with your website. Ownership verification only proves that you control the domain; it does not require access to the previous hosting account.
