Field types and options

Use field types to control how contacts, forms, and checkout questions collect data.

• Select (Single) and Radio (Single) collect one answer from a defined option list.
• Select (Multiple) collects more than one answer from a defined option list.
• Option-based field types require at least one option, and options can be reordered before saving.
• Mark a field required when the value should be collected before a form or checkout can be completed.

Updating fields used by forms or checkout

Forms and checkout widgets keep their own saved copy of a field's structure so published pages stay stable.

• After changing a custom field type or options, reopen forms and checkouts that use that field.
• The builder refreshes the field type and option list from the latest field definition while preserving per-form or per-checkout presentation choices such as label, placeholder, help text, width, and required state.
• Republish the affected page when you want the refreshed field structure to go live.
