What this controls

Tags let you label contacts for filtering, automations, and targeting. Tag names can use letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, underscores, periods, commas, parentheses, and colons. Use colon-separated names such as

webinar:July or funnel:welcome:lead when you want a simple naming pattern.

Prepare tags with a connected assistant

A connected assistant can create a named tag before any contact uses it, so it is ready for an automation, checkout, or segment. Creating the tag does not add it to contacts. If a matching tag already exists, the assistant returns that tag instead; matching ignores letter case and surrounding spaces. Rename tags in the Tag Manager.
